CURVED Paint Roller For Applying Lotion
Purpose
Everyday painting tool that can be repurposed for applying body lotion.
Description
Thank you to Kim Shields, FOP community member, who found this clever everyday item that can be used for applying lotion! Applying lotion is a very important component of keeping your skin hydrated and healthy but can also be very difficult when FOP limits your mobility. A long-handled paint roller can be a decent substitute for reaching and applying lotion to arms, legs, and backs. But this particular roller, while it has a shorter handle than others, offers a curved-shaped end making it easier to apply lotion to the legs or arms. There rollers are intended to be used for painting rounded posts or pipes, but living with FOP sometimes means you have to think outside the box and find creative ways to use everyday items for a different purpose. If traditional lotion applicator tools are too expensive or not available where you live, this might be an easier and less-expensive alternative that works just as well!
Tips
Make sure to clean your roller applicators so they don’t collect and spread bacteria, and dispose and replace them on a regular basis. When looking for the mini rollers, try the ones made from sponge material – they won’t soak up as much of your lotion and are easier to clean and rinse!
