Purpose

Stools are commonly used in the FOP Community for sitting or “perching” when FOP bone growth limits the ability to sit in a regular chair.

Tips

There are MANY different types of stools in different heights and styles. Bar stools and Pub chairs tend to be the most popular. You will want to decide if you want a hard surface or a cushioned surface. You can always add a pad to a hard surface. You will also want to make sure the stool is sturdy enough that it won’t slide when the pressure of your body is up against it. You’ll want to test this on the surface you’ll use the stool (carpet, hardwood, marble, tile). Sometimes non-slip padded can be added to the bottom of the stool legs.
