Purpose

The mission of the UnitedHealthcare Children’s Foundation is to provide medical grants that enhance the quality of life for children across the United States. These grants give kids the care they need by helping with medical expenses not covered, or not fully covered, by their family’s commercial health insurance.

Description

UHCCF’s medical grants program supports children who are 16 years or younger at the time of application, have primary commercial health insurance (Medicaid/CHIP OK as secondary), and belong to households meeting set adjusted gross income limits based on family size  Grants cover services rendered in the U.S. and may be applied to eligible costs incurred up to 60–90 days before application, as well as for ongoing or future care .Families can receive up to $5,000 per child per year, with a $10,000 lifetime limit. To apply, parents or legal guardians complete an online application, submit documentation including tax returns, insurance details, and a physician’s certification, then await a monthly regional board review. Approved grants offer reimbursement or direct payment to providers, alleviating families of financial burden so they can focus on their child’s care and well-being.
