Adapted School Chair

Purpose

FOP Community Member Aqib Mazhar created this adapted school desk for her daughter Hareem who lives with FOP. They created the special chair because no school would accept Hareem due to concerns about safety and FOP. Aqib says “we needed to make a special chair to be used only by my daughter, as no school is willing to admit her due to her health condition caused by FOP disease. This chair will help prevent her from falling, especially because of the mischievous behavior of some students in her class.” They plan to make updates to the chair as she grows. Hareem likes the chair because she feels safe.
