Buckwheat Pillows
Purpose
Buckwheat pillows have been suggested by members of the FOP community for positioning in bed because they are firm, don’t move around, are made of organic material, and can be homemade.
Description
Buckwheat pillows are traditional Japanese pillows filled with the organic material buckwheat. Buckwheat is a seed and you might have even eaten it before! Buckwheat pillows are firm and can be a great positioning tool because they won’t more around can be contoured into different shapes. Unlike memory foam or down pillow filling, buckwheat is known to have a cooling effect.
How to make
Buckwheat can be purchased as a stand alone product. If you or a family member are good with a sewing machine, you could make your own pillows in the shape and size you need. This site has some good information to consider when making your own pillow as well as instructions.
