CariFree Treatment Rinse
Purpose
Oral rinses can be a great alternative for patients who’s jaws have fused. When FOP causes the jaw to fuse, oral rinses may be the only way to reach the tongue and inner surfaces of the teeth. Oral rinses are not a replacement for daily brushing and flossing. Only brushing and flossing disrupts the biofilm that develops on the teeth causing plaque. However, mouthwashes may help get into areas missed by brushing. Treatment Rinse has been suggested by members of the Support4FOP group.
