MEC Disabilities
Purpose
MEC Disabilities is a parent-led 501(c)(3) nonprofit based in Grants Pass, Oregon, dedicated to supporting children and young adults with disabilities by providing access to adaptive equipment, sensory spaces, education, and advocacy. Founded in 2021 by Nikki Sanger, the organization is run by families who understand firsthand the challenges of navigating disability services. Through their equipment assistance program, MEC Disabilities helps U.S. residents aged 21 and under obtain essential adaptive medical and non-medical equipment—including wheelchairs, walkers, sensory tools, and sports gear. Applicants must submit a completed application form along with a letter of medical necessity or professional referral, and an insurance denial letter if applicable. All documents should be mailed to MEC Disabilities’ PO Box; sports equipment requests may also be emailed. The review process can take up to 90 days, and approvals depend on funding and availability. MEC Disabilities ensures no request is too big or small, with a mission to motivate, elevate, and celebrate individuals with disabilities nationwide.
