Spatula Fork
Purpose
FOP Community Member Laura Rossano created this extended fork to improve stability of her utensils when eating.
” This is a regular fork attached to a spatula with waterproof tape for cleaning. When I use an extension fork it isn’t sturdy, so I needed something more sturdy with sharp prongs to get my food. There were a few creations we tried. We used the small plastic spatulas and then small wooden spatulas and I like the wood ones better because they are a little bit lighter. This tool is a game changer and makes it way easier and sturdier to eat.
How to make
Items needed: household fork, wooden or plastic spatula with smaller width end, scissors, waterproof tape
- Trim edges of spatula to smooth edges and reduce size to the width of the fork
- Attach the end of the fork to the spatula using waterproof tape
This tool was created as part of the2025 Ability Toolbox Homemade Tools Contest. More information about the contest can be found on the IFOPA Webpage. The IFOPA would like to thank The Radiant Hope Foundation for their generous financial support of this program.
