Walker Table

Purpose

Cristiane, who lives with FOP in Brazil, and her father created this walker table to help her have the freedom to go throughout the house by herself. She says, ” I use it to walk around and take showers, and I place things on it—like my cell phone, laptop, or a plate of food. Since it is a table, I feel more secure, and I can do my daily tasks using it. I lost my ability to walk independently, and I came up with the idea to create this table because it gives me a sense of security and allows me to continue using my phone and laptop while standing.”

How to make

Items Needed: Wood (If you plan to use the walker table in the shower, pick a wood that can get wet), Metal or Iron Tubing, Four Wheels, Screws

  • Make a square out of iron and set it down
  • Attach the wood and the wheels using screws.
